BREAKING NEWS:

Legendary Coach Bob Turner returns!

Playoff fever is back in Randolph!!!

The Oilers are excited to announce the return of Bob Turner as head coach of the Randolph Oilers.  With his return and tradition of winning, expectations are extremely high for the Oilers' 2013 season.

Coach Turner brings with him a very impressive coaching resume. In fact he was the last coach to lead the Oilers to an EFL Championship- back in 1990. The 1990 Oiler squad was the greatest in Oiler history, going undefeated and beating the potent Marlboro Shamrocks in the championship game.

Recently Coach Turner has coached in the EFL with both Taunton and Brockton. In just Taunton's second season in existance Coach Turner led them to the EFL Championship. And most recently he coached teh Brockton Bucs, and brought about immediate success and helped them secure a playoff berth.

Now Coach Turner brings his impressive experience and winning tradition back to the Oilers. With him comes defensive coordinator Bill Turner, his son, who is also one of the best defensive ends in EFL history. Bill was even signed by the New England Patriots at one point.

2012 Coaching Staff:

In addition to the exciting return of Bob & Bill to the lead the Oiler coaching staff, the remaining staff is extremely impressive as well- both in terms of coaches who were on the Oiler staff last season as well as new coaches who have been on Coach Turner's staff.

Even though Coach Penn decided to retire, the remaining members of his coaching staff has stayed on board.  The Oilers are fortunate to have these dedicated and knowledgeble coaches on the staff. Returning coaches include: Jon Gates, Al Lockhart, Jack Mitchell, Ron Myers, Don Myers, and Aaron Hollins.  Coach Gates & Coach Mitcell were members of the Oilers '90 championship squad and have been coaching with the Oilers for over a decade.

Additionally on Coach Turner's staff is Frank Curtis and Kevin Trundley. Frank and Kevin will be assisting with the offense. Both are also former Oilers.

Kevin was an outstanding running back for the Oilers in the 1990's, after a stellar career at needham High and later a tryout with the Patriots. He was also the former head coach at Dedham High School.

Thoughts and Prayers to the Turner Family...

The Randolph Oilers would like to extend their deepest condolences to the family of Freddy Turner. Sadly Freddy passed away over the weekend at the age of 34.

Freddy's dad Fred Turner coached for the Oilers in the 1990's, and his uncle is current Oiler head coach Bob Turner.

As a young boy Freddy was a ballboy for the Oilers, and later went on to play several seasons for the Oilers as a hard hitting defensive back.

Freddy was loved by his Oiler teammates, and will be missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. Freddy had a wonderful spirit, a great smile and sense of humor, and a loving heart. He has left us at way too you young of an age

Please join us in sending thoughts and prayers to the Turner family as they cope with this heartbreaking loss. Rest in peace Freddy...

Please join us in supporting the Turners and paying our respect to Freddy.
