Oilers battle but fall short in playoffs vs tough WMBB  team

The Oilers (#8 seed) fell to the Western Mass Blitzing Bears (#1 seed) by a score of 44-18 in the opening round of the EFL playoffs. Despite the lopsided score, the Oilers battled until the end, and simply lost to an extremely strong WMBB team.

The Oilers took an early 6-0 lead, but then fell behind 22-6 and were forced into too many obvious passing situations. As a result the Oilers committed too many turnovers, which you can't have against a dominant like WMBB.

But the Oilers have no reason to hang their heads. The team played hard all season and have a lot of young and veteran talent to build upon for the 2011 season. The Oilers will be back!!
!!!!!

The Oilers had plenty to celebrate early after a Ryan Myers to Brian Gallo touchdown pass gave the Oilers an early 6-0 lead

Thoughts and prayers go out to our teammate Water Bug, who suffered a knee injury on the final play of the game.

Oilers lose to Taunton, but still secure playoff berth

The Oilers lost to the Taunton Gladiators 36-17, but still managed to secure the EFL's final playoff berth thanks to Hyde Park losing.

The Oilers will be the #8 seed and will face #1 seed Western MA Blitzing Bears.

After an apparent recovery of an onside kick by Karl Wells (#76), the Oilers had hopes of a comeback vs eventual league champ Taunton, but a questionable call by the refs negated the recovery and all hopes of an upset

Oilers lose to 1st place Western MA

The Oilers fell to the Western MA Blitzing Bears by a score of 35-6. If the Oilers qualify for the playoffs the Bears could very well be the Oilers first round opponent. Meaning the Oilers need to get their act in gear if they intend to make any type of post-season run.....

It didn't take long for the Oilers and Bearcats to realize they don't like each other.
