Oilers get back on track with blowout victory

After a tough July. the Oilers got August off to a good start with a 55-20 victory against the Mid Coast Falcons (Maine). Despite losing the week before to Boston, the Oilers were able to build off of the momentum they established during their frantic 4th quarter attempt (rallying from down 28-7 behind gutsy qb James Merrick....). The Randolph Oilers faced off on Saturday with a hungry Granite State Knights team, that was hungry for a win in its home opener (yes- they had started with 6 games on the road, and end with 5 straight home games). And early on it looked like the NH squad may get its wish, going up 7-0 early in the 1st quarter. But the Oilers offense started to click behind qb Ryan Myers and scored 19 unanswered points. Oilers Snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

Write-up coming soon, but for now it is too painful to even think about. For those who must know, the quick summary is that the Oilers battled back from early deficits to tie the game with 7 minutes to play. With 50 seconds to play Oiler Safety Johnny Epps picked off a Braintree pass and returned it 70 yards before finally being tackled on the 9 yard line. The Oilers attempted teh winning field goal from the 7 with less than 30 seconds to play, but the kick was blocked and returned 93 yards for a touchdown and stunning 26-20 loss. Details....

Oilers get back on track with Victory

In a game that came down to the final play, the Oilers preserved with a 41-34 victory over a feisty Hyde Park team that refused to quit. The Oilers offense was in peak form, seemingly scoring at will. Leading the charge was the Oilers offensive line which gave up no sacks and kept QB Ryan Myers safe in the pocket all night.
With the win the Oilers inched closer to securing a playoff spot. With one victory in their final two games the Oilers can control their own destiny and locking a playoff berth. Details....
