Quincy 27, Oilers 13.
The Oilers suffered a setback with a 27-13 loss to Quincy on Saturday in Quincy. The Oilers competed, and the final score is not indicative of the difference in talent levels between the two teams. The Oilers trailed 13-7 at half time, but continuously made minor mistakes and committed penalties that stalled promising drives. The defense played another strong game, but the offensive struggles frequently left the defense with poor field position. Quincy played a strong game and deserved the win, but the Oilers hope to meet up again with the Militia in the playoffs to get another chance to prove that the Oilers are better than they played on Saturday. The Oilers clearly need more players to be at practice every week and ON TIME so that the team can continue to work out the kinks and develop some consistency.
