2011. Rookie Idol

Pasta Dinner & Rookie Idol - 2011

Pictured above is QB Ryan Myers as a rookie in 2004 at his first Oilers seasonkickoff pasta dinner

After the last practice before the first game, the Oilers held their Annual Pasta Dinner. To kick off the season each year, after the last practice prior to opening night each season the team meets back at the VFW for pasta and drinks to get the season kicked off on the right. As always uit was a good time to bond with your teammates and have some fun before we get down to serious business on gameday.

Additionally, as per the Oiler tradition, for some extra entertainment the rookie players performed Rookie Idol- in which all new players (and returning players) get up on stage and perform a song in front of their teammates, coaches, and special guests.

Unfortunately this year all of the videos were accidentally deleted, along with most of teh pictures. Below are the few pictures taht were not deleted. Unfortunately (or fortunately) there is no digital evidence of some of this years performance. Highlights of teh evening included not captured on film include: John Martel performing a "unique" verion of Row, Row Your Boat, (ii) Tom Deegan performing a ballet version of the Nutcracker, (iii) Clyde Love, (iv) Leon McBean, (v) Anthong "Nellie" Goss, (vi) Kevin Clark, and (vii) Burger grandstanding on why he should not have to attend Anger Management classes.
